DR. MUSTAFA BAYTAR Contemporary Painter • Artist Researcher “Painting the silence between justice, nature and human existence.

ABOUT

I am Mustafa Baytar (1983), a Turkish painter and artist-researcher based in Brussels, Belgium.

I completed my Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate (Proficiency in Art) degrees in Fine Arts in Istanbul, Türkiye. Between 2012 and 2016, I worked as a university lecturer in Türkiye. During my academic career, I presented papers at national and international symposiums, conducted research in art, and served as an Art Consultant for TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye).

In 2016, my academic career in Türkiye came to an end for political reasons. Today, I live in Brussels, where I continue my artistic practice in my studio. I love Belgium and deeply value the freedom of thought and artistic expression it has given me.

Over the years, I have participated in solo and group exhibitions in Amsterdam, Verona, Istanbul, Antalya, and many other cities. My works are included in the collections of the Yüksel Sabancı Art Center, the IFAS Collection of Selçuk University, Rotary Club collections, as well as public and private collections. Alongside my artistic practice, I continue to present my research at international symposiums and conferences.

For me, art is more than an aesthetic practice; it is a universal language that connects people and cultures, encourages reflection, and reveals the values we all share.
